50th Birthday, Cebu The Philippines; Day #10
A slightly slow day today due to England’s game ending in a draw after full-time, extra-time and then to penalties. So a 6am finish for 50th Birthday, Cebu The Philippines; Day #10. Slowly but surely, slowly but surely. A fantastic recommendation for dinner from our mate Harold, the GM of The Movenpick Hotel. More in a moment on that. Two more groups of friends have left us early this morning. So we are now down to 8. A lazy, sleepy beach day, Exec Club Lounge (which is a must do), superb meal and finish off with a night-cap – yeap that works – he we go!!!
Oh no – Godzilla’s got a cold!!! Jude’s clearly rather scared.
Sadly The Brady Bunch have left us now with Eddo family too. Reduced numbers today!
Happy lazy days in the sun. It’s not a bad life sometimes, is it!!!

It’s a tough old life after the football win, dear me – so so tiring! Loving my beer ice bucket though, that is a nice touch Movenpick. Love it!

Even here, rain does NOT stop play. you just move somewhere else. So lightening warning cleared the beach, so it’s up to the lobby for beers food and more chit chat. Very nice!!!

Out come the Show Girls – it’s Zumba on the beach time. I would have joined in but I had to write the blog for the day before. Cough Cough!!!
Mary even caught a baby puffer fish, that sadly died over night – but it did give us one puff up to prove it is what it was. If you get my drift!
Time for a few beverages at the Executive Lounge. Hark at me. Bloody nice. I even made the girls a mocktail.
Our new best bud, Harold the GM of Movenpick, Mactan, shared a secret eating house. We just managed to secure a booking. It is NUTS busy. You even have to pre-order how Kg of lechon you will likely eat, as once it is gone it is gone. We ordered 2Kg. This place was insane. So busy but so good and a perfect 2nd to last dinner for 50th Birthday, Cebu The Philippines; Day #10. It is an absolute MUST. It is Rico’s Lechon, best in Cebu they claim. I tell you what I’ll give them that honour, bloody brilliant food. They are at Mactan Promenade, Airport road, 6015 Cebu City – Get Directions or call them on (032) 231 5580. You must do that or expect a long wait, and potentially no speciality. thanks to our mate Harold for the recommendation – class act Sir. Wait until you see tomorrow’s blog ha ha!!!

Told you it was busy in there – and you have not seen the queue yet. OMG massive busy!
His role in life is chop chop chopping. Kilo’s and Kilo’s of porky goodness. Two types of lechon on offer – spicy and normal. Spicy had run out though for us.
Ah here is that missing person. Oh no man down, Baby Jude not himself lately. He was even sick last night and today through the day. Bless him, but he still cracked on regardless. Such a soldier.
Check out that Lechon. Amazing looking food. We got stuck in big time.
Here is one of Mary’s favourites, Dinuguan, or bloody soupy thing. Kerry got right in to this as well. Very metallic, liver overtones. It’s really quite nice actually.
Fried chicken skin with Tuba chili vinegar sauce. Incredible! Just incredible. 2 of these please.
