Firstly I must apologise to my mate Steve and his lovely fiance Shahirah.
We could just get to your celebration – as you’ll see we went from one to the other, and then had to get kids to bed. So apologies, and we hope you had a fantastic time.
To our day.
1500 – off we go to Grandma’s House for a Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf party.
Down to Bedok.
Ivy is celebrating her 6th birthday.
Check out this flipping cake – OMG.
Made by Ivy’s Mum – Wynona – who has her own company catering for kids parties.
When I say catering I don’t mean just the food – everything!!!
You can see why that company is an absolute hit right.
Here comes some glaringly obvious advertising here for Wynona.
If you want an amazing child’s birthday with just the most amazing display of cakes, goodies, drinks, goodie bags, entertainment etc. you HAVE to call her – Ivy’s was a truly wonderful day.

To the fun.
Just to set the scene it was Bedok, in a back garden in the jungly/park area of Bedok.
Yep it was HOT.
Boiling hot.
My bum was like the Grand Canyon with the Colorado River running down it – yep one was sweating a tad. Man it was hot. But superb fun.
The kids were all getting face painting done – Amy goes for butterfly.
Amazing a year or so ago she would not let you even think about face painting her, let alone actually doing it!
I bumped in to an old friend Faz – one of the first people I worked with in BT when I moved to Singapore 6 years ago. She sadly left us not long after and we have not seen her since.
She walked past wafting herself with a fan and I joked “hey you’re prepared better than I today!” This was anonymous as I have to admit behind the glasses I had not recognized her.
She lifted her glasses and shouted “Hi Bri.”
That amazing small world again that we live in kicks in again – so my Mary and Faz posed. Nice.
It really did start to get so very very hot.
Mary and Amy retreated to hide inside the house – keeping cool in the aircon, whereas yours truly was a mingling with old and new found friends as intro’d by Damian – Rab being one of those, and what a great bloke he was – great to meet you and your family.
A little gang of us is now going for a few beers Thu next week, and to see some live music. Very nice!
Can you see that once beautiful face painting of Amy’s has sort of smudged and melted down her face. It started to drip in to her eyes so we had to wipe a little away. She now looks more like a beaten up panda that’s been crying – dear me.
A monster pass the parcel.
Look how many kids there are – but all calm, collected and perfectly well behaved bless them.
I am actually stood under a tree taking this shot as you can see that sun is a beating down still.
You may just be able to see that it is indeed Amy unwrapping ‘1st blood’ in the pass the parcel stakes.
Here is the beautiful birthday girl – Ivy.
Remember her with no front teeth a month or so ago – now look at her, wow!
Also a butterfly as you can see.
Cake time over and the cake is retreated the house for serving – so so very sad to see the first cuts go in to the masterpiece above – very sad. Great idea to serve from the kitchen window as all these little munchkins were queueing to get a bit of the wolf, grandma, a rabbit (Amy) etc. Very cute.
Outside again for Piñata time – woo hoo.
A rosy red apple (I think) hanging from the big tree and the back of the garden.
Amy lines up to the plate – ‘Strike one’
Bases loaded – ‘strike two’
Ivy steps in.
Man as cute and sweet as she looks in her little outfit – boy did she bash the living daylights out of the piñata – poor thing (the apple that is!)
Bringing in the big hitters now – in comes No.11, Oliver Kennett.
Takes a big swing and nearly knocks the tree down.
OK another go and success – some cracks have shown, candy is scattered, kids have scattered…
Final helping hand from Uncle Damo – to send the kids to the 4 corners of the garden.
Success reigns with two very happy little ones showing of the spoils.
Yes Ollie is leaning on the bouncy castle – did I mention that…?
Fair-wells from two best mates.
See you soon Ivy.
We all hope that you had a marvelous party, we did thank you – thank you so very much for inviting us.
Then talk about chalk and cheese as we had to dash to another friend, Kevin’s, 50th BBQ.
This time being held in his new swish condo block, Oceanfront, on Sentosa.
Why they call it that then??
What are all these boats for in his back yard??
Thanks for a great party Kev.
Happy birthday you ole bugger.
Love your new place – you mentioned the sliver yacht is yours right – lend me the keys mate???
Promise I’ll come back!!!
Cough!!!
