Amy’s 11th Birthday x2 like the Queen
My gorgeous girl turns 11 today. I cannot quite believe it. From this cute little thing to nearly a teenager in the blink of an eye. She had a party with all her school mates on Saturday, tagged by Jude and Jhea, and even me at the start to give Jude some confidence. Then today is the actual day, and we’re off for a big family brunch to celebrate. Weeeeeee. So she had 2x celebrations, so this is Amy’s 11th Birthday x2 like the Queen. Let’s have a look shall we?

Where did all the years disappear to? This little one becomes a gorgeous, tall, chatty 11-year-old today. Oh no, 2 more years and it is teenage time…

Always trying to do different things for their birthdays I found this new attraction and Amy bit on it. This is AirZone over at City Square Mall. What a superb use of empty space in a shopping centre. 4 floors of trapeze artist grade netting filled with ball pits, massive zorb style balls and slides. I think the kids are gonna love this if they can get over any fear of heights. Let’s see.

Jude was a little scared to start off so Daddy had to get some trainers on and get in there with him. But after a short while, he forgot I was there and started sprinting around on his own, whilst under the watchful eye of his big sis Jhea. AKA kid soup. It’s deep in there. Jude is actually standing on Amy’s shoulders…

I tell you it is up there. It starts one floor up and then goes up for another 4 floors. So when you are up to the top you are looking down 5-6 floors. Don’t look down, kids. Luckily Amy and her OEPS school mates with her today had just done a school camp that included abseiling so they were seasoned pros.

Once you are up it is a long way down. Clear netting is your way up, and blue is the slide to get down. Shows you how big this place is with Jude whooshing to the bottom of one of the slides.

This is right at the top now. So Jude is looking down 6 floors as the top section is 2 combined floors. I had to keep dashing up and down escalators to get photos to share. Up down, down up.

Birthday girl plus mates, also right at the very top. 6th floor of the shopping centre. “Having fun Amy?” said I. “Oh no I looked down Dad…” said Amy.

Here is the entire gang that came today from Amy’s school. I love this shot. Literally up in the heavens, all lazing around. Silhouette against the skyline.

He’s very comfortable with it all now clearly. The cool thing re this place is that the concept for AirZone actually came from the UK. Well done Brexit!!!

Off he goes again. Quite a few of my little SpiderMan because I could keep up with him. Amy and her schoolmates were too fast. By the time I got up the escalator to the floor they were on, they were already down the slide to the level below.

Amy on the big Zorb ball things, bouncy bouncy!!!

Brother and sister longing around. Yes, I am actually in the thing at this time giving the little man confidence that this is safe. If it can take my weight it can take yours buddy ha ha!!! Ivy and TJ behind too.

Amy gang all having fun. I read a little bit about the Singapore Company that brought this concept here. There are limited shopping centres with the height of atrium and the exposed supporting columns needed to connect the nets. So AirZone may only hit 3 shopping malls in total.

TJ having a blast!

Yeah, he is very happy now. This ball pit section is quite funny. This is about 3 foot deep in the bulge of the net. There might actually be kids in there. Again in the write-up re the launch of AirZone, they tell of a Mum ‘drowning’ in the ball-pit. I blame the parents…

This place is seriously cool. Such a good choice. Well done Dad.

BALL-PIT – weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Up she goes. See what I mean about the depth of the ball-pit. You could lose a family in there.

OK pictures slightly out of order. This is my gang in minibus #1. The birthday girl with TJ, Ivy, Poppy, Jude and Jhea. Gang #1 AWAY!!!

You also get access to this coffee shop for the duration. 2x X-Box gaming consoles and free-flow soft drinks and snacks. I like it a lot.

Not sure if this gives you a good scale and height perspective, or not? Suffice to say it is bloody high and bloody huge.

The job was done well, Dad. Everyone had a wonderful time so they said afterwards, including this soon to be 11 years old.

And of course this now very confident little monkey.

I think Amy just got run over by a Zorb ball. I think AirZone call this section; Raiders of the Lost Ark. I double like this now!!!

Managed to finally get a shot with a load of the gang in it. Phew!

I really was struggling to keep up with the kids. I literally get down a floor and then they are already up to the next and vica versa. I think some early sleeping is gong to happen tonight.

Time-out, time-out…

TJ at speed…

Jude the Human Cannonball….

Jhea the fastest Filipina on the planet, right about now…

Poppy breaking the sound barrier…

Ivy doing the Tutankhamen…

We even had a visit from insects. Come on a slight Dad Joke. He is a BumbleBee.

Homemade birthday cake for the party. How good is that? I did the icing and made the mango flowers. Jhea and Mum did the biscuit, mango and mango cream layers. I think that looks amazing, and it tasted superb. Yummo!!!

An hour and a bit of bouncing followed up by an hour of X-Box and R&R. Yeah, this was a good party choice. Really good.

Happy Happy Birthday gorgeous girl.

How many more years will we be able to have parties like this? They are all growing up so so quickly. Dear me.

I think they all have never seen a cake like this one before. Inquisitive eyes from everyone.

And now it is the morning after and she can get stuck into her presents. Lucky her. Presents from New York, Japan and the UK. How lucky. Thank you, family, and thank you, schoolmates, yesterday for coming and for her gifts. She loves them all.

Come on, come on. It’s taking longer to unwrap it than it did to come from NYC.

The small one awakens now too. He has handmade a lovely little card for his big sis. Great work Jude, love that card mate.

Well, they do say an Apple a day keeps the Dr away. Does that count if they are Air Pods? Happy Birthday my darling girl.

Up go her hand-drawn gifts from brother Marlon. Amaze-balls. She is a lucky girl today.
So there it is folks. My little Princess is fast becoming a young lady. Too fast in my reckoning. Amy’s 11th Birthday x2 like the Queen was a fantastic 2-parter. Such a giggle yesterday at AirZone, and actual birthday today. Lunch today too with friends to celebrate more for Amy and JimBoy birthdays. More to come on that later. For now, here is the update. Happy birthday my beautiful girl with much love from Mum and Dad, Ollie, Jude, Jhea and Jimboy. Love you very much. We hope you did – ENJOY!!!
