A lovely Sunday out around Gardens By The Bay
What a lovely day today was. Packed solid as usual with many things to do. First things first was to finish off the Spring cleaning of another of the rooms, tick in box by 11am. Off to get a taxi next to have A lovely Sunday out around Gardens By The Bay. You won’t see Ollie as he was working again, so just the gang of 4, as is our usual gang of late.
What did we do;
Satay By The Bay for a cracking lunch – lamb kebabs, BBQ chicken, Roti Pratas etc. and a few icy cold Tigers. Luckily joined too by our mates The Burkes for a bite to eat and a chat.
Off then to The Children’s Garden where the kids went bananas in the water park, and the tree house garden. How lovely.
Then a major walk from Gardens By The Bay, all the way over to where we used to live at Costa Rhu. So much has changed now with the developments.
Including Kontiki Restaurant, where we had a beer after the long walk, and decided to have dinner too – more of that will be on Islifearecipe.net, but suffice to say it was gorgeous food!

Trying to get some really nice natural ones of the kids at play, clearly this is not one of them ha ha!!!
I asked them to JUMP. Jude got it right, but Amy decides to have a wee. Good work baby Jude!
Now we’re talking – it’s raining, it’s pouring…

They played and played and played today. So proud of them both, not a single argument all day!

I think you can tell that they are really really having fun today – oh yeah did I mention that this place is FREE
Now someone gets a little silly. This is speak no evil monkey Baby Jude, not poke my tongue out as far as I can monkey! Mind you that’s you!
Errrr, hmmmm, nope you got me there Baby Jude…
With a face like that, there’s surely no evil in my little monkey!

Jude spotted this beautiful butterfly on the walk to dinner, after we crossed over the barrage to the other side of the bay – it was just taking off. Stunning.
Big storm chasing us – luckily every cloud does have a silver lining as we made it to the restaurant before the heavens opended.
A whalloping great big heron lands at the side of the river, and slips in to stealth mode. I assume hunting for frogs and fish. Beautiful thing!

It’s such a funky place, full of quirky statues and furniture and incredibly good food to boot!!!
And last but by no means least. Chef Jude enters the arena, and creates yet another of his culinary masterpieces as we polish off dessert. Yes folks he is eating vanilla ice cream that had melted, so he called it ice cream soup. Of course with that you can add a cold chip, and tomato sauce. Genius Chef Jude – you be getting your first Michelin * soon buddy!
