Bohol Adventure Day #4
Here comes Bohol Adventure Day #4. And yes today was adventure time, as we scoot of with our guide Danni, to explore the island of Bohol. Hills, primates, rovers, bicycles and F1 driving. Off we go. An early start today, as a lot of driving to do. Poor Jude barfed in the van, a little sick bless him but also crazy rally driving from Danni, 100kph down small roads, and blind corner over-taking wow!!! Scary at times, so we calmed him down. A great day out with so so much to see, apart from Steve who had a blind guy give him a massage. Nothing to see there (ouch!).

First up though is day #1, when we met the Ruthers at Cebu ferry terminal to take Ocean Jet fast ferry to Tagbilaran, Bohol. Nowhere else the photos of the boys and no sense to create a whole blog for two photos either.

Ina about 30 seconds, three beers, and a pot noodle these two will be fast asleep.

Coffee and donut stop at Loboc, and I was busting for a pee, but the sign says….

Up to the top we walked, about 300 steps, to the peak of one Chocolate Hill to view the surrounding scenery. WOW!

The rest of the gang were there too, apart from Steve who was nowhere to be seen.

Sadly a lot of them have collapsed in the earthquakes in past few years, but still amazingly impressive. And guess what, this used to be the seabed, so the hills are made up of seashells – incredible right!!!

Just stunning views all around, 360.

Up next is Chocolate Hills Adventure Park for more Fun in the Philippines.

Cross that bouncy rope bridge first!

Next up is bicycle zip wire between two Chocolate Hills – I think this is Soph up first!

Ollie and Soph cross-over time!

Freja and Ollie now about to whizz past each other, very brave Freja (who actually did not want to do this, but lost rock/paper/scissor with Dad).

Ruthers all alone out there between the hills – shows you how far it is, and how high up it is.

Go Freja go Freja – how brave is she!!!

Soph and Freja cross-over now – way to go girls!!!

Soph & Ruthers cycling it out, this ain’t no Cambodia Mr Rutherford!
Funny thing was that there was a weight limit on the ride. Mr Rutherford may be in trouble. Let’s have a look how he got on.

I think this is Soph, going it alone at this time! Way high up!

Lunch on Loboc River Cruises, chugging along through the gorge, music playing, food being whacked down and cold beverages to boot. Nice!

A lovely lunch on the river, all having fun!

Next up is the World’s smallest primate, the Tarsier. Not a monkey but a primate, same family as us lot. Size of a fist, this is one cute little thing. Lives alone in minimum of a hectare. Will commit suicide sometimes if put in a cage. Also found in Indonesia and Malaysia, but this species is unique to Bohol. So flipping cute!

I want one for Christmas!!!!

And then we’re back home and out last supper with The Rutherfords before they disappear home – here we are at Saffron, a wee hop, skip and jump along the beach. What a cracking last day with them, and a cracking meal to say goodbye. It’s been fantastic to have then with us this week.
So Saffron Restaurant is actually located in Amorita Resort, the very hotel Mary and I stayed in 9 years ago. My first trip to Bohol, and now where her brother works too. Amazing small worlds, and boy has it changed in 9 years.

My favourite Xmas decoration ever. All made from beer cans and beer bottle tops, oh yeah baby, I wonder if they’d notice it was gone?

None of this was here 9 years ago, massive resort now compared to what is was like. What a cracking place. Maybe here next time???

Here’s our place at night. Nice. 5 minutes along the beach and we’re home from dinner! Beautiful little walk home!

Not bad at all. Man I love this place!

And that was that. Back to the bedroom for bed time and hey presto we have a crocodile towel sculpture tonight. How cool is that Baby Jude!!!
Bohol Adventure Day #4 was our last day with the Rutherfords, so a sad but brilliant day all in one. What a cracking day it was. So nice to see all the wondrous things of Bohol again, and this time with our mates. A great day, and night. Thanks again to Steve, Freja and Sophs for coming. It was ACE to have you with us, to celebrate with Mary and family and friends, but also to show off the Philippines to you guys.
