Daddy Day – the Jude Diaries
This is a travelogue diary of one day – Daddy Day – the Jude Diaries. With Mary taking the kids back to the Philippines, I took the day off and promised I would share the day looking after Baby Jude. And here it is. Quite funny actually. For you Babes, but also everyone else. The little was just exceptionally good today, and just such fun. It was a lovely action-packed day.
Thanks to Ollie and Amy for helping.
But major thanks to my little 3 year old mate. You knew Mummy was away, and you were perfect. You ate well, we had fun on buses, you chose breakfast, lunch and dinner, you were so good all the way through the film, and you were so good at shower/milk/teeth/bed-time, despite Daddy not having long hair and you having to use the beard he he. Love you little man!
Here it comes;

After a nice little lay-in, the wee man awakes and I take him, Amy and Ollie across the road for breakfast at Craftsmen Coffee. He is mouthing; “It’s breakfast time Mum!”

“Here’s my breakfast I chose Mum. It’s back bacon, scrambled egg, and muffins. Yummy. I ate loads, ask Dad! Are you proud of me?”

“I am using a spoon as a microphone to do miming to the songs being played at the cafe Mum. See my video later that Ollie took of me. I had great fun today.”

Off to the cinema now and this snap is more for Amy than Jude. Did I just blink and miss her grow up from 9 years old to 18?

One bus Mum, and another of Baby Jude’s decided face-pulls for todays adventure.

Baby Jude’s next choice for Daddy Day adventure was, Singapore Flyer.

“This is where we used to live Mum, remember?”

“Taxi time now Mum, Flyer finished. I am hungry and need lunch. I have chosen where to eat!”

“I chose the meat platter. Daddy made little Jude sandwiches for me, and we played eating pink or purple for the different ham. This was garlic bread Mum, double yummy. I ate loads, including my thumb.”

“It’s Gold Class time Mum, and Wonder Woman. I didn’t need shorts as I had the blanket, but did put my jacket on. I think Daddy looks more excited to see Wonder Woman than me though Mum!”

“Film finished and back to Siglap for hawker food. I chose chicken rice and ate nearly a whole $4 portion Mum.”

“Mum, look at me eating my soup all on my own. Am I a good boy?”

“I had a lovely shower and hair wash, and cleaned my teeth really well after my milk.”

“And then it was bed time. Daddy laid down with me until I fell asleep. I stroked his beard as you were not here so I could stroke your hair. Night night Mum. I had a really fun day today, but really missed you. Love you, Jude. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz”
“Look at me pretending to sing Mum, he he.”
