Day #5 the Philippines June 2019
An extremely lazy day today for Day #5 the Philippines June 2019. A major lay in and late breakfast at The Bellevue Resort Hotel. Back to the room, finish packing, dump the bags at checkout and off to the games room for the kids. I had an interview at 1230 so sort of destroyed one plan which was to have lunch at the house. Too late for that post interview. But it was a good interview so more than worth it. So we had lunch at The Bellevue too and then took a minibus to our beautiful house.
Day #5 the Philippines June 2019 became a shopping day. We needed a trip to get some silicon for grouting the shower, some stones for between the steps ahead of us putting down the grass on the newly concreted area, and some new plants for the front garden to sort of segregate off next door to ours. So sort of lazy sort of busy. Concluded with dinner at a family Kennett favourite in Tagbilaran, Payag. For once you get a short blog from me.
It starts off like this…Is this an antique birthing chair? If my assumption is correct the answer is no. These are an adaption of what is known as plantation chairs. Usually, that extended bit is foldable. SO when ‘the Master’ comes back from the fields he sits with his G&T, folds out the extensions and rests his weary feet. The fact that he has done f’all apart from watch those doing all the work is another story… But my Jude would never do that anyways, so I like this chair picture.
It really was quite relaxing. I could have sat there a while, but we have to go back to the room to pack 1st before we hit the games room for a bit. Whoop Whoop!!!
And here we are in the games room. World Championship table-tennis and air-hockey are completed, so it is time to sit and relax over some PS4 instead. Bring on Street Fighter.
Off the house and time to catch up with brother and sister and the obligatory ride on YanYan’s motorbike for the kids in, out and around the sub-division.

Loving every minute of it, both of them. Lucky buggers!!! So great to see Mae and YanYan too. The family extends for a few days. Wonderful!!!

Much later we are in the city, shopping is done, and it is time for dinner before home time and bed a little later. It’s Payag time. I have said this before in previous blogs, and we have brought mates here to eat too to prove it – this is a class joint. the food is excellent and so is the $$$. I would absolutely recommend you come to the first branch of this, it’s original, it’s the best (my personal view).
Of course, as always, we go LARGE. Crispy pork intestine, BBQ chicken livers, fries, dried and fried beef strips – well that is all I can squeeze in this photo. Is there more – surely not?
Of course, there is!!! The best BBQ chicken on the planet, and also the pork skewers are to die for. All with local dips. Banana Ketchup and Native Sauce (vinegar and soy with Calamansi and chilli – abso-bloody-lutely fantastic. Heavenly!!!
Nope, this is not shitty old KFC. This is the kids eating deep-fried pig intestine. Best crisps ever… Would you try it???
And of course. Happy wife, happy life. My love is a happy chick, visiting her favourite haunt and local from when she was a student. You can’t beat this place. Come visit Payag it’s ACE.
And that was that. A blur to be honest. Day #5 the Philippines June 2019 was over. A mix of The Bellevue Resort, the house, Tagbilaran City for shopping, Payag for dinner and the house for some TV and bed-time. Still, it was a superb day of getting things done and drifting around our island home of Panglao and Bohol. It’s chaotic, but it is absolutely brilliant too. You must come to try one day. My nieces did and loved it, all the way from UK. Give it a go. My gang are pretty certain you would also – ENJOY!!!
