Langkawi, Malaysia, Day #1 Kennett’s Tour
Wow, an 0400 wake up, to depart Finland Gardens at 0500 for an 0640 flight for Langkawi, Malaysia, Day #1 Kennett’s Tour. Our very time to this island of Malaysia, despite many saying how cool and beautiful it is. Testament of the variety of stuff you can visit in short proximity of our home, Singapore. I have to call out how amazing wee Jude was, not faltering until bed time at 2100 this night – incredible effort for the wee man to keep going and going, as elders to him fell at the wayside for naps.
Just have a look at the video of him chatting to a new mate on the flight. He was gassing to this little lad, Levi, for about 30 minutes of a 45 minute flight. I managed to grab that 30 second video in between my snoozes. Good work Baby-Jude.
First photo up though is this lady sat in the aisle seat, one row in front of me. She was dropping fast asleep and nearly broke her neck and nose a few times as she fell forwards. But, then she found a comfortable position, and sorry, it was so so funny I had to snap her. Anonymous, but she was in seat 24C of the Malaysian Air flight from KL to Langkawi – to funny (sorry again).
So here we are now landed for the start of the adventure that is Langkawi, Malaysia, Day #1 Kennett’s Tour. A tiny, wee airport, so off the back of the plane on steps for a walk to immigration. Not only did Jude see the pilot, but also had the chance to stand next to the plane, cool Baby Jude. Lasted about 2 seconds before security ran over to stop them both getting sucked in to the engine. Still a good photo!
You know those photos; “What happened next…?”
Thank goodness it didn’t!
We’re having 3 nights at the Westin Langkawi, then off to Koh Lipe in Thailand, and then one night back Westin Langkawi before flying home. Westin is a beauty. A little out on its own. Almost a Bintan Resort type thing, but with a much much better view. 4 pools, and 4 restaurants, and a cracking beach with incredible views and seriously wonderfully accommodating and friendly staff.
We arrived before check-in, but The Westin were kind enough to give us one room. So bag drop, quick change and off to lunch. And what a lunch it was too here at Seasonal Tastes Restaurant. Bloody brilliant – more to come in IsLifeaRecipe.net, but have a wee look anyways.
Believe me these were MAN sized portions, wow! We ain’t going hungry here!
Jude and I go exploring. “Let’s check the pools and the beach Jude” said I. “Cool!” said Jude. Jude the only three year old know that will show off the beach using Roboto. It’s simply stunning here when the sun is out. Loads and loads of surrounding islands. Stunning. We warned that the beach in this season has thousands and thousands of little crabs that float on the water – I didn’t see one – happy days.
Seriously how stunning is that! It’s blue on blue, on turquoise here.
And now to the left of the hotel – oh yes I like it here a lot. Horizon gazing in steroids!
Lovely little restaurant on the beach, likewise serving up quality, quality food – here’s a sneak peak ahead of IsLifeaRecipe.net.
And then this happened at roughly 1915 – sunset. Holy cow. You could almost watch this happen. Blues, to pinks, to golden. All in the space of 10 minutes or so and then it was gone until tomorrow. The one above looks like the most amazing coloured tornado. WOW!
And there you have it family and friends Langkawi, Malaysia, Day #1 Kennett’s Tour. Who knows what tomorrow will bring (actually I could tell you as I am writing this on Day #2, but that’s a new blog ha ha). Because of travel and tiredness, today was check-in, eat, sleep, explore, eat, early bed. But still a cracker as The Westin really is rather special. Albeit, 3 days is enough, back to the Bintan experience. We will be exploring other places on the island before we scoot to Koh Lipe. Hope you – ENJOY!
