Last day with Philippines family
2 weeks has absolutely flown by, since Jimboy & Jhea came to play. Yesterday early am they left us, accompanied by Mum, who got back about midnight last night. Sad to see them go, but great fun whilst they were here with us. You saw last weekend already of course. Much more in between, but with me at work I mostly saw weekends only. So here is our Sunday. The Last day with Philippines family. It was decided to go somewhere both kids had not been before, so we had a lazy morning, a lazy lunch at hawker and then jumped in to taxis off to River Safari.
Great to have Ollie with us today, as he had taken a day off work.
(Usual apologies for photo quality, as most taken through VERY thick glass).
Here we go;

Looks like a scene from Moanna – notice the camera-shy Jimboy, Jhea and Amy – yep this is a common theme you will see throughout today’s trip.

Which one’s which? Hold on turtle would not wear bright blue Adidas trainers, but I do think Jude wins the widest mouth. Snapping turtle is the LOSER!

Little Pygmy crocodile I think from the Amazon. First time I have seen this out of the water, likely because the feet you can see are those of the trainer in there feeding the croc and his cohabiting turtle mates.

Huge bloody Nile Croc, as in HUGE. Interesting fact in this croc, is it has small legs, so you could outrun it on land. Easily identified by a lump on the end of the snout and clearly visible massively long jaws. I love this photo, it looks like a load of idiot fish are happily swimming straight in to his gob!

My Mary, clearly extremely happy that she has a river named after (it’s actually true), without even knowing it…

I don’t kind of get that a male sturgeon would be saying of this female sturgeon; “Hello gorgeous, you look beautiful today, love those whiskers, and your lovely pert lips, fancy a drink some time?”

Still can’t get over how gorgeous red pandas are. One of my absolute favourites. So flipping cute, despite the fact that he’d probably have your arm off in seconds if you happened to fall in the cage. Mary it is my birthday soon, I want one…

Mr Normal Panda now. They look cute and cuddly for sure, but check those big brown teeth destroying that rather tough bamboo.

Picture #3 at the very same spot as the last visits. Baby Jude never tires of this guys, this time with big bro too though.

And here is the missus. Have to say sweetheart maybe a little over the top with the lipstick this afternoon???

Oh my goodness, a hatching Judosaurus, and it is already roaring… SCARY

Reptopia session now and Baby Jude and Amy were front and centre as birds, snakes, and lizards all came very close to them – very exciting show!

One of the lizards was this huge green Iguana. Beautiful thing.

Quick spin on the river cruise now, from where you get to see the back-wide of the Zoo and Night Safari. So pretty cool that when attending those and you moan there’s no Rhino’s, that’s cos they are down here enjoying a feed and nice breeze of the water.

This giraffe was very quiet. Perhaps he had a sore throat. OUCH!

River Safari boat ride. Have to say its additional cost, and not that good really – but hey ho the guys have not seen it so let’s go. And wow, straight out of the block there sits this Majestic Kingfisher – how beautiful is that!

And if you get to see the Jaguars of course you cannot not include a photo – just stunning creatures!

My favourites – I just LOVE Squirrel Monkeys. These were feisty today, all in one little area, so loads of photos. But the keeper was in there telling people to stay back as apparently they can be bitey when excited. So flipping cute though – wow!

I mean come on – Mary it’s nearly my 50th birthday, can I have one of these and a Red Panda???

No Mary, I do not want one of these. The kids said I had to take a picture of this one, because they thought it looked like me with my beard, hmmmmm!!!

And here it is, the last supper with the entire gang before they leave at 0600am in the morning. Sad to see them go. Happy to see them arrive and stay with us. See you soon guys. Thanks so so much for coming to stay. Brilliant fun!
But the final thing for the blog is always video content – so here are the giant Otters, basically having a wee play with each other. Apologies for noise and quality, loads of people and thick curved glass to contend with. You get the point though!
