The last day with the Edmonds – Eastside…
Packed and exited from their Air BnB, they rocked up at ours with ALL their suitcases and man there was a lot. We had until about 1900 with them, as this was indeed The last day with the Edmonds – Eastside … so lets cram it;
Lagoon Hawker for lunch;
East Coast walk;
Prawn fishing;
BBQ the catch;
Dinner at LTN;
Sadly – Goodbye…

“I love eating at the hawker, but man oh man could I do with some friends and family…” “Chris, can I phone a friend?”

Kids (not really kids any more) table!

Did we order too much? Have we taken this place over or what?? Are we having fun??? Hell yes – to all the above!!!

I mean seriously we have taken over. I love this photo – have a look bottom right. Jude was thumping his fist on table later; “I want beer, I want beer…” Whoopsy!

Madi VERY proud of herself in that she just ate some chicken wings off the bone. And OMG moment from Eddo and Vicki…

Eddo’s favourite dessert deserves a photo and all tried and/or commented on the Singaporean favourite of Ice Kachang (translated means ice beans). Yep folks – shaved ice, drizzled with syrup, drizzled with evaporated milk and then it starts to get funky. Sweetcorn, kidney beans, a variety of jellies, some weird green worm like things, some things that look like eyeballs etc. Its a superb dessert in my reckoning – but Eddo, Vicki, Madi and Taylah were all dry-reaching for some reason… Angmo’s, bloody Angmo’s…

I remember watching this on Channel 4, and thinking WTF. Well today I impressed myself when walking down East Coast. I saw these guys celebrating their Deepavali Holiday, clearly about to participate in a sport of some description. I was able to walk up and boldly ask; “Is this Kabaddi?” I think the guys I asked nearly fell of his chair. An Indian team sport, a little like tag. But you have to hold your breath, the arm of a partner, and continually murmur Kabaddi when you cross a certain line. Yep its a weird one, but amazing to watch in ‘real-life’.

“Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi…”

Off now for ice creams after a VERY long walk along the beach to show off East Coast, oh yeah and THE amazing Singaporean favourite past-time of prawn fishing!!! Amy getting in to it. Sadly I also took Jude to DiggerLand, but was on my own so no photos there – sorry. But suffice to say, he was bloody good at driving the dozers and diggers!!! Great work Baby Jude!!!

“There were four blondes in Singapore that went prawn fishing one day. One said to the group….”

Eddo now joins in. “I see no prawns?” “A prawn, a prawn, my Kingdome for a prawn!!!”

Soph’s knocks it out of the park with a monster crayfish/lobster catch. I think it might be a baby though. Well it is a nipper!!! I thank you… (PS; all were cooked up later with some garlic butter, salt & pepper and lime juice…)

And the final one – my new little mate Taylah, and BFF of everyone that had a few minutes with her showing off how cool she was with the world of Singapore – yes folks those are Singaporean Rag Worms in her hand. Used for prawn fishing because they move continually. Great work Taylah – massively impressed with you this trip with your desire to get in and eat, explore, learn, experience… well done you!!!
